Planning Board Member Resigns

Trevor Beauregard steps down, citing 'personal and professional matters,' selectmen chairman says.

Westborough Planning Board member Trevor Beauregard has resigned for "personal and professional matters," ending seven years on the board, Selectmen Chairman Ian Johnson said Tuesday night.

Selectmen and the planning board together will appoint someone to serve until the spring 2014 election, Johnson said. Beauregard's five-year term expires in 2016, and the balance will be on the 2014 spring ballot.

Selectmen said letters and resumes from those interested serving now should be sent to Paula Covino at Westborough Town Hall, 34 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581 by May 15.

Town Manager Jim Malloy said appointing someone to serve until next spring "gives somebody an opportunity to try" the planning board.

Selectmen thanked Beauregard for his service.
