NorthStar Youth Forum officials will hold shovels next week so that more guests can use hockey sticks at the site later this year.
The ground breaking for NorthStar's new rink is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Executive Director Denise Marco said Wednesday.
The $4 million Rink C project is expected to open at 15 Bridle Lane on Labor Day weekend, Marco has said. A Nov. 30 grand opening is planned.
NorthStar will expand its programming when the rink opens.

Has there been a traffic study done in this area, to account for traffic once the new rink is open? Tonight, on a dark and very rainy night — getting by the rink on Oak St. was pretty impossible (big event maybe?) The street lighting on that road is pretty dim — and with the new gas station, and overwhelming demand for rink time. I wonder if Oak St. can possibly handle the traffic..

big event tonite - Shrewsbury / Algonquin playoff game. Not usual although I would agree the lighting on that curve is very poor from back of the Green Thumb down to the Tennis Club.
