Logs: Westborough Man Charged with OUI, Again
The following information was obtained from the logs of the Westborough police and fire departments and scanner reports. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Here are excerpts from the Westborough police and fire logs. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests; other than that, we pick out incidents you might find interesting.
Friday, Feb. 3
2:35 a.m.: Westborough paramedics and Officer Christopher Atchue responded to Maple Circle for an emergency call. A patient was take to the hospital.
9:25 a.m.: Westborough firefighters investigated a report of a strange odor at a residence on Elm Street. It was reported that the smell resulted from a faulty electrical outlet. The circuit was shut off and the owner was advised to call an electrician.
12 p.m.: Officer Laura Grasso and Sgt. Todd Rossi assisted Westborough firefighters at a building on Turnpike Road, located across the highway from the Woodland Avenue intersection. The building was evacuated because of a fire alarm sounding. Approximately 30 special needs people were said to be taken out of the building. An investigation found that the source of smoke came from food burning in a microwave. Scanner reports indicated that there was a plastic material involved in the microwave accident and it was causing a smoke condition on the first floor. The building was ventilated.
12:28 p.m.: Officer Jeffrey Keaveney issued a traffic citation at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Research Drive.
12:43 p.m.: A crash was reported at the intersection of Turnpike Road and East Main Street. Sgt. Todd Rossi helped at the scene.
5:31 p.m.: An ambulance was requested on Lyman Street. A patient was taken to the hospital.
Saturday, Feb. 4
1:44 a.m.: Officers Tyson Delong and Paul Pinto investigated a traffic incident at the junction of Fisher and Maynard streets. ARRESTED: Steven D. Ayres, 45, 73 East Main St., Westborough. CHARGES: OUI liquor, second offense; operating with a blood alcohol content over .08; failure to stop/yield.
9:26 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Arch Street. Westborough paramedics and Officer Richard Trainor responded. A patient was taken to the hospital.
Sunday, Feb. 5
9:08 a.m.: Officers Clifford Luce and Paul Pinto joined Westborough paramedics for an emergency call on Lyman Street. A patient was taken to the hospital.
10:17 a.m.: Westborough paramedics assisted the Northborough Fire Department at Teamworks on Otis Street for a patient with a leg injury.
11:10 a.m.: An ambulance was requested on Lyman Street. A patient was taken to the hospital.
11:49 a.m.: Officer Clifford Luce assisted Westborough paramedics for an emergency call on Whitney Street. A woman reported receiving a laceration from a cooking accident.
3:25 p.m.: A crash was reported at the intersection of East Main and State streets. Officers Clifford Luce and Terry Peters helped at the scene. A field interrogation report was filed.
4:41 p.m.: An ambulance was requested on Turnpike Road. Westborough paramedics and Officer Richard Trainor responded. A patient was taken to the hospital.
4:59 p.m.: An ambulance was requested on East Main Street. Westborough paramedics and Officer Leeanne Baker assisted. A patient was taken to the hospital.
10:06 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Fisher Street. Westborough paramedics and Officer Gregory McRae helped at the residence. A patient was taken to the hospital.
Monday, Feb. 6
12:07 p.m.: Westborough paramedics assisted in getting a patient to the hospital from East Main Street.
5:43 p.m.: A crash was reported on East Main Street. Officer Richard Trainor investigated. A field interrogation report was filed.
11:30 p.m.: A crash was reported at the intersection of Cross and South streets. Officers Richard Trainor and Jeffrey Johnson joined Sgt. Peter Goodney at the scene. A filed interrogation report was filed.
