Logs: Crashes, Disgruntled Employee, Burnt Toast

The following information was obtained either through scanner reports, the Westborough Police Department or the Westborough Fire Department.

 

Here are excerpts from the Westborough police and fire logs. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests; other than that, we pick out incidents you might find interesting.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

7:36 a.m.: A three car crash was reported at the intersection of Fisher and Church streets. One car was towed from the scene. Officers Christopher Atchue, Dean Paine and Paul Pinto assisted the drivers. A field interrogation report was filed.

8:35 a.m.: Officers Laura Grasso and Jeffrey Keaveney responded to a request for a police officer at on Turnpike Road. A caller reportedly asked for assistance with a disgruntled ex-employee who would be coming back to retrieve items.

8:39 a.m.: Officer Domenic Annunziata assisted someone who came to the Westborough police station to report a lost wallet. A field interrogation report was filed.

10:26 a.m.: The investigated a report of a broken sprinkler pipe at the dump on Hopkinton Road. A conveyor malfunction was reportedly responsible for hitting one of the pipes.

10:50 a.m.: Officer Jeffrey Keaveney helped a person who went to the police station to report email threats. A field interrogation report was filed.

12:44 p.m.: Officer Jeffrey Keaveney assisted a person who went to the police station to report Internet fraud. A field interrogation report was filed.

1:31 p.m.: Officer Laura Grasso investigated a crash on Smith Parkway. A field interrogation report was filed.

2:07 p.m.: A resident of Frances Drive requested police assistance for a minor who was reportedly being slandered on Facebook. Officer Charles Dapolite responded. A field interrogation report was filed.

3:42 p.m.: Officer Jeffrey Keaveney assisted drivers in a two car crash on Route 9 near the . No injuries were reported. A field interrogation report was filed.

5:11 p.m.: Officer Richard Trainor helped a woman who went to the police station to request information about a crash she was in earlier in the day.

6:21 p.m.: Vandalism was reported on Mill Road. Officer Richard Trainor investigated. A field interrogation report was filed.

10:32 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Mayberry Drive. Officer Jeffrey Johnson and Westborough paramedics responded. A patient was taken to the hospital.

Thursday, Nov. 24

8:32 a.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Beach Street. Officer Terry Peters and Westborough paramedics assisted at the residence. A patient was taken to the hospital.

8:42 a.m.: Westborough firefighters investigated a fire alarm at the on Willow Street. The alarm was reportedly caused by burnt toast.

12:40 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Kay Street. Officer Jeffrey Keaveney and Westborough paramedics responded to the home. A patient was taken to the hospital.

6:08 p.m.: Officer Richard Trainor and Sgt. Peter Goodney responded to a report that a woman fled on foot from a group home on Warren Street. The officers were able to find the woman on South Street. A request was made for help from Westborough paramedics. An ambulance was sent and the woman was taken to a hospital.

Friday, Nov. 25

6:51 a.m.: Officer Gregory McRae investigated a 911 call on Turnpike Road. A man and woman were reportedly arguing about comments the woman made about the man's family. ARRESTED: Jaya Ruppa, 39, 297 Turnpike Rd, Apt. 424, Westborough. CHARGES: Domestic assault and battery.

8:17 a.m.: Officer Jeffrey Johnson responded to a call from BNY Mellon on Computer Drive. A caller reported that a credit card was missing and being used by someone in the company.

8:41 a.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Summer Street for a man who was having difficulty breathing. Officer Clifford Luce and Westborough paramedics assisted the man. He was taken to the hospital.

9:48 a.m.: Westborough firefighters responded to a report of a fire on Washington Street. There was reportedly a fire inside of a pellet stove. Firefighters put out the fire and advised the woman to have the stove inspected and the chimney cleaned before using the stove again.

10:14 a.m.: Sgt. Peter Goodney and Sgt. Glenn McLeod assisted at theon East Main Street for a report of an overnight breaking and entering and burglary. A field interrogation report was filed.

10:41 a.m.: Officer Clifford Luce helped motorists involved in a minor crash at on Hopkinton Road. The crash reportedly involved a Harvey’s truck and a car. No injuries were reported. A field interrogation report was filed.

11:19 a.m.: Officer Jeffrey Johnson and Westborough paramedics assisted a woman who fell outside of the on Union Street and may have broken her arm. Emergency personnel at the scene were heard reporting a “rather significant oil spill” in the parking lot where the woman fell. The woman was taken to a hospital.

12:43 p.m.: Officer Jeffrey Johnson helped a disabled motorist who was reportedly stopped in a bad location on Route 9 eastbound by the The driver was said to have a flat tire.

7:09 p.m.: Officer Michael Daniels investigated a reported crash at the intersection of Turnpike Road and East Main Street near the No injuries were reported. The drivers pulled into the breakdown lane by the old Friendly’s.

8:40 p.m.: An officer was requested on Turnpike Road. A 56-year-old Lowell woman was taken into protective custody.
