July 4th Celebration Includes Annual Family Festival

While not actually ON July 4th, the event offers an explosion of fun for all ages.

The annual Westborough July 4th Family Block Party will take place on Friday, June 29 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Festivities take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on West Main Street from School Street to the rotary. That portion of roadway will be closed beginning at 4 p.m.

Coordinated by the 4th of July Committee, the event includes music by the Reminisants, food, games, a dunk tank, hay and pony rides, face painting and other attractions. New this year is a photo booth and a train ride. There will also be a hot air balloon on location at Bay State Green.

Many events are free and others include a nominal fee. Donations are accepted to offset the cost of the event.

For more information, contact the July 4th Planning Committee at kdesiata@town.westborough.ma.us.

I love the 4th of July Block Party its a nice time for families to get out and enjoy a summer night. I'm curious about why its still held on Main Street and not down at the Bay State Green.....I have no problem with it being held on Main Street, just wondering if there is a reason behind the location ? Guess you would need to rename it as it would not be block party, maybe Party in the Park ?

Maybe expand the event to the Park? ..... Opportunity for more vendors, more music, more of whatever people want out of the experience.

It's kind of neat to have it downtown, I think. It's great and thanks to all who make it possible!
