Horses Safe After Barn Break-In
“This is an ongoing problem,” said Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon.
Police have no leads in a Friday night break-in at a barn on the former Quick Farms property near the intersection of Adams and Nash streets. A number of horses are kept in the barn, according to Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon, but none was injured.
“This is an ongoing problem,” Gordon told Westborough Patch. “Some kids got in there and threw stuff around. One horse got out of its stall, but it was not injured.”
According to the police log, Officers Leeanne Baker, Richard Trainor, Tyson Delong and Sgt. Peter Goodney investigated the area just before midnight. Police received a report of a large “drinking party” in the woods near the property, Gordon said. Some youths were found with alcohol and were turned over to their parents. Parents were called to retrieve cars left in the area.
Gordon said that anytime a resident sees or hears something suspicious in the area, he or she can report it to the Westborough Police Department at 508-366-3060.
“Call and let us know,” he said. “These parties happen a lot. We definitely see an increase during school vacations.”
