Marathon experience: This will be the fourteenth marathon for Trish Reske. It will be her eighth consecutive Boston Marathon.

Reason for running: Trish is running with 34 others on the Run For the Memory Alzheimer’s Association Boston Marathon Team. It is her fourth year running for this cause. “I’m running in memory of my mom,” she said. Her goal is to raise $4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association, and she said she is at 98 percent of her goal. “I just need a few hundred more to get over the bump,” she added.

Training tip: When asked about a tip for others interested in marathoning, Trish recalled one of her favorite quotes from fellow marathoner Rick Muhr of Grafton. “He said that the last step over the finish line is the first step to all that one can achieve. That is so true,” Trish said. “I didn’t start running until my late thirties, almost forty. I was never a runner.” She believes that almost anyone can take up the sport and she encourages them to do so. She currently runs a training program to coach those new to running to run their first 5K. "I am really enthusiastic about getting people to experience the joy of running.”  More information on her program for new runners can be found on her website.
