Emergency Parking Ban Expected
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Expect on-street parking to be prohibited in Westborough during this weekend's snowstorm, Police Chief Alan Gordon said today.
The snow emergency ban will help the Westborough Department of Public Works clear the streets, Gordon said.
Westborough's winter parking ban remains in effect, he noted. On-street parking is prohibited for more than an hour from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., ending on April 1.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon for much of Southern New England, including Central Mass.
At least six inches of heavy wet snow -- with one to two inches per hour overnight -- are expected.
Power outages are possible due to the snow downing tree limbs, the agency reported.
Westborough Patch is monitoring the storm.
Event postponements and cancellations should be sent to Michael.Gelbwasser@patch.com.
Officials at Westborough's Good Shepherd Lutheran Church mentioned the storm in their general e-mail to members this morning.
"We are closely watching the weather reports for this weekend. We're hoping that
Sunday won't be as bad as they're predicting, but are making preparations just in
case," the e-mail says.
