Cultural Council Salutes 21
The council recognized its largest grant class during a reception Wednesday night.
The Westborough Cultural Council's reception Wednesday night made history in honoring the arts.
The council recognized the 21 members of its latest grant class, "the largest number ever given by the cultural council," said Betheda Shuman, who co-chairs the council with Cliff Watts.
"We were able to fund this many grants due to the much appreciated funding from the state, from the town of Westborough, and from our own fundraising event, Arts in Common," Shuman told the crowd at the Forbes Municipal Building.
Selectmen Leigh Emery, Ian Johnson and Timothy Dodd, and state Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) recognized each grant recipient, who then told the audience about their project.
