AstraZeneca to Cut 145 Westborough Jobs

The pharmaceutical manufacturing company has no announced plans to close the Westborough site.

is cutting 145 positions in Westborough by the end of the year.

Tom Hushen, Communications Manager for the pharmaceutical manufacturing company, said that the company has already disclosed that information to employees at the manufacturing facility.

“We will provide ongoing support to all Westborough employees throughout the transition, through both company sponsored services and our partnership with the Massachusetts Dislocated Worker Unit,” he said in a statement. “Throughout the process we will continue to communicate plans early and openly with all employees.”

At this time, the company has no plans to close its Westborough site, Hushen confirmed. The company has two Massachusetts locations, Waltham and Westborough, which currently employ approximately 900 people.
