Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Adds K-9
Nikita, a nine month old labrador-terrier mix, is the newest member of the K-9 Unit at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.
Nikita’s recent addition to unit comes after 14 weeks of intense training provided by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office free of charge. The specialized training has provided the sheriff with a canine that can detect both illicit drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and methamphetamines and prescription drugs such as oxycodone, hyrdrocodone, oxycontin and other opiate based derivatives.
